NYCERS is committed to providing a seamless experience for you throughout the disability retirement application process.

One way we’re achieving this goal is by assigning a Case Manager to you after your disability application is received.

Proactive Outreach

Your case manager will be there every step of the way to ensure that you:

  • remember to provide any missing forms or supporting documents that are required to process your case;
  • are aware of and prepared for upcoming appointments;
  • periodically receive status updates regarding your case.

Support

Your case manager is available via phone, email, video conference, or in-person to answer your questions, and clarify your understanding of the process and what is expected of you.

Follow Through

Your case manager will notify you of the Medical Board’s determination and discuss next steps.
