Melanie Whinnery selected as NYCERS Executive Director
The New York City Employees’ Retirement System Board of Trustees has selected Melanie Whinnery to be its next Executive Director.
August 1, 2017. Melanie Whinnery has been selected by the New York City Employees’ Retirement System Board of Trustees to be its next Executive Director, culminating a national search by the NYCERS Board, assisted by search firm EFL Associates.
Ms. Whinnery is currently the Deputy Comptroller for the New York State and Local Retirement System (NYSLRS), also serving as the Chief Operating Officer, overseeing NYSLRS’ management team and approximately 800 staff.
Enhanced Disability Benefit Election Filing Deadline EXTENDED to 9/30/2017 for CF-22 Members in a Correction Officer title.
File Form #194 by September 30, 2017 to enroll.
This extension only applies to members in a Correction Officer title. If you are in a Uniformed Correction Force title other than Correction Officer, the filing period has ended.
On March 17, 2014, a settlement between the City of New York and the United States Attorney's Office in the case of Goodman et al v. City of New York et al ("Goodman") became effective.
The Goodman Settlement impacts the pension calculations of certain members and pensioners who served in the military after September 11, 2001.
