Important Service Announcement

As of midnight on June 25, 2021, Governor Cuomo lifted the New York State – State of Emergency, and cancelled the Executive Orders written under the State of Emergency.  As a result, NYCERS has returned to its standard policies and procedures as they pertain to the Executive Orders noted below. Therefore, the following NYCERS Temporary Policies are no longer in effect:

  1. Open Meetings Law Protocols for Public Meetings
  2. Notary Protocol
  3. Allowing 212 Limitations to be Suspended
  4. Permitting Remote Notarization
  5. Waiving Notarization on Certain Documents
  6. Travel Restrictions

The New York City Department of Education did not elect to participate in the ERI by the May 31st deadline.

The City of New York did not elect to participate in the ERI by the June 30th deadline.
Therefore, there is no Early Retirement Incentive for DOE/City employees under Chapter 59 of the Laws of 2021.

2021 Early Retirement Incentive (ERI)

The New York City Department of Education did not elect to participate in the ERI by the May 31st deadline.

The City of New York did not elect to participate in the ERI by the June 30th deadline.

Therefore, there is no Early Retirement Incentive for DOE/City employees under Chapter 59 of the Laws of 2021.

Please log in to access your e-ADS and look for the “View My Documents” link. If you have not registered for a MyNYCERS account, or you registered prior to March 2020, please register to view your e-ADS.

Be sure to review the beneficiary information on your e-ADS. If you need to make changes, look for the “Manage My Beneficiaries” link in your MyNYCERS account.

NYCERS members who are furloughed per Mayor de Blasio’s order will not receive pay for the time they are furloughed and therefore, will not receive service credit for that time. The furloughed time cannot be bought back unless legislation is passed to permit the purchase.
