Excess Pension Contributions

In August 2021, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) informed NYCERS of a payroll error that resulted in the MTA withholding contributions on earnings in excess of the overtime ceiling for some MTA employees in Tier 6.

The MTA is still working to identify the affected population, and will collaborate with NYCERS to determine next steps.
