Deferred Compensation: Include the Deferred Compensation Plan in your retirement planning. Register for a Deferred Compensation Plan retirement seminar.

Office of Labor Relations: When you start recieving a pension from NYCERS, you may be eligible for City-paid health insurance benefits. Health benefits are not offered or administered by NYCERS. Contact your employer for more information.

Windfall Elimination Provision: If you work for an employer who does not withhold Social Security taxes from your salary, such as a government agency or an employer in another country, the pension you get based on that work may reduce your Social Security Benefits .

Government Pension Off Set: If you receive a pensions from a federal, state or local government based on work where you did not pay social Security taxes, your Social Security spouse's or widow's or widower's benefit may be reduced.
